Since 1957, the San Francisco Film Society has been enriching the lives of Bay Area residents through the presentation of the world renowned San Francisco International Film Festival. In addition to the 15-day International Film Festival each spring, the Film Society presents daily year-round programming with SFFS Screen at the Sundance Kabuki Cinemas, the New Italian Cinema series, the SF International Animation Festival, and the French Cinema Now series. Spurred by the increasing public demand for high quality film as demonstrated by event attendance—over 150,000 tickets projected for 2009, with a high percentage at sold-out events—the Film Society has consolidated its position as Northern California’s premier non-profit film organization.
